Wenger adamant he’s ready to spend

“I have made 400 transfers in my life and I know every one has a rhythm that you are not the only one to decide on”.

Arsenal tightened up at the back following last week’s 4-3 defeat to Liverpool but were unable to find a way through during a game of few clear chances.

They are the kind of qualities possessed by Suarez, a player Wenger famously tried to sign for Arsenal for the odd sum of £40,000,001 before eventually going after Sanchez a year later.

After everything Arsene has done for that club, the criticism he has to put up with from a variety of sources is quite incredible in my view and I ask these people, who could come in and do a better job than Wenger tomorrow morning?

“The club has 600 staff and we have a responsibility to them”.

“People look behind the scenes at their scouting and people making the transfers and trying to make deal, I don’t think it’s particularly their fault”.

“I don’t feel that, no”, Wenger told reporters. “It’s a bit surprising when you come out of games that you have to speak about money”. He’s English, he’s 20 years old. “You have to watch it in slow motion to see what’s happened”, he said of Koscielny’s lunging tackle on Drinkwater. But I’m sorry, he didn’t cost 55 million, so he can’t be good.

“But it takes him a bit longer because of that maybe too as he could not work and when he came back he was not completely ready to be 100 percent”.

Wenger turned to Koscielny’s fellow Euro 2016 stars Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil in search of a victor in the second half but the Gunners couldn’t find a way past Kasper Schmeichel. “I think it was the right decision”.

“I don’t want to speak about individual players”, Wenger replied when asked about a potential summer move for Mahrez. Essentially, both sides cancelled each other out – and that’s another feather in Claudio Ranieri’s cap.

Beaten 2-1 at Hull City in their first game, Leicester remain without a win this season, but Ranieri was encouraged by what he saw against Arsenal.
