Wenger: Arsenal has bought Mustafi and Perez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is “99 percent” certain of completing new signings before the transfer window closes on Wednesday amid talks of imminent acquisition of striker Lucas Perez and defender Shkodran Mustafi.

As reported by the Evening Standard, the boss had clearly expected this deal to go through without any problems, so when it didn’t the whole complexion of our summer transfer plans had to change.

Asked if bringing in Mustafi and Perez would conclude Arsenal’s business in the transfer window, Wenger said: “We already have a big squad … and we can’t have any more players”.

Fans of the club have even gone as far as holding up banners at the Emirates Stadium suggesting Arsenal should seek a new manager.

And now bookmakers BetStars are confident Arsene Wenger will follow up their arrivals with Brahimi, who is said to be available for £40million this summer.

“I’m happy when our supporters are happy, but my job is to make the right decisions”, the Frenchman told reporters at Arsenal’s London Colney training centre.

On the highest spending single day of his Arsenal tenure, Wenger admits that the transfer window didn’t work out as planned.

“It was a odd transfer market – I expected it to be easier than ever but it was more hard than ever”, Wenger said.

“Ozil is not physically there completely but what we want from Ozil is assists and goals and I hope he can get that this season, 10 or 15 goals plus the chances he creates”.

“Everybody has sat on their pounds until now”.
