Wenger: Arsenal have had a “bad spell”

Ramsey continued: “It was obviously a bit disappointing to go a goal up and to concede that goal was a bit disappointing from our view, but to be fair they did well and they deserved to get a point out of the game”.

The draw left Arsenal two points below league leaders Manchester City in fourth place.

“We’ve had a bad spell with only two points from three games but we are still not far”.

“It is not enough but at least we had an opportunity to come back”.

“It was a hard game”.

“Maybe the turning point was at 1-0 up, we allowed ourselves to drop a little and let them back into the game”.

Koscielny had to be taken off early in the first half at Carrow Road, with Sanchez withdrawn in the second half.

In the post game press conference at Norwich, a hostile and defensive Wenger answered allegations that Sanches may have been feeling the hamstring injury already before the match.

Wenger however admitted that he considered it, but that Sanchez himself said he wanted to, and was fit to play.

Asked if he may have erred in starting with Sanchez, Wenger told Sky Sports: “You can say that, but at the moment on the striker front we have not much choice because (Theo) Walcott is out, (Danny) Welbeck is out”.

“He gives me work-rate, will run the channels and retain it really well”. I fear it’s not.

According to The Guardian, the Chilean could be out for over a month in case of a tear on his hamstring, while Cazorla will undergo a scan to alleviate concerns over potential ligament damage to his knees.

“If it doesn’t go to plan and we lost I would probably get criticised for putting him in”, Neil said of his decision to start the forward.

“Koscielny is a kick on his hip, he can’t move at all, even now”.

I must say with all humility we are not in a position to predict [injuries].

“Despite all our tests he looked all right”. When you have normal stretch and force there is no problem.

Arsenal may be in the Barclays Premier League title race this season, but their chances are being hurt by a stream of injuries to key men.

The progress of Koscielny is more encouraging for Arsenal; the French centre-back is expected to return to first-team training this week with the intention being that he take part in Saturday’s home game against Sunderland.
