The left-back is being touted as one of the most exciting defenders to emerge over the a year ago, but at 20 he feels that he is ready to play first team football on a more regular basis (via Mirror).
Arsenal and Bayern Munich are reportedly expected to fight for the signature of Barcelona youngster Alex Grimaldo.
The Gunners have a history of snapping up youngsters from the Catalan giants, with Cesc Fabregas, perhaps, the most notable example, while Hector Bellerin also hails from the La Masia set-up.
They will be boosted by the fact that the player’s contract is due to expire in the summer, and it looks unlikely that the club will exercise an option to extend it further.
But MirrorFootball understands that Barca would be his first choice if he can receive guarantees over a promotion to the first team.
