Wenger labels Premier League the ‘world championship of managers’

The England worldwide, who sees himself as a winger but has spoken of his desire to play a more central role, has been tried in both positions by Wenger.

“We have done that, and against Manchester City last Sunday we looked quite strong, quite fit and ready for the start of the season”.

Wenger is targeting a move to sign Valencia centre-back Shkodran Mustafi this summer, but the Germany worldwide won’t be available for Sunday.

The Frenchman is likely to rely on new signing Rob Holding to start the season opener at Liverpool, with the 20-year-old expected to line up alongside Calum Chambers.

The 25-year-old centre-back sustained the problem in the Gunners’ final pre-season outing against Manchester City on Sunday, although he suggested earlier this week it was nothing serious.

“We have to deal with the game on Sunday with the squad we have available”, he said.

“He’s in pain. Let’s hope that the pain is not a sign of bad news”, Wenger said of Gabriel’s injury on Arsenal’s official Twitter account.

“I believe we are equipped to do well”.

This is the question we’re attempting to answer today as Arsenal Mania reveal the FIVE reasons why Arsenal’s transfer policy appears to be the way it is.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of players across Europe this summer, including Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette and Leicester’s PFA Player-of-the-Year Riyad Mahrez.

Even world class players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Arjen Robben or Robert Lewandowski are not playing in the premier league.

“We know that in England transfer is very high because of the influx of money”, he said.

“If you go to Spain or Italy and you’re an English club – straight away the inflation comes in”.

For many fans of Arsenal, it was yet another missed opportunity under Wenger, who last guided the north London side to the Premier League crown back in 2004. Sometimes you find a solution that you wouldn’t find if you had no injuries.
