Whether Wenger can find a “top, top level” player before the window slams shut remains to be seen but it’s clear he needs to add to his squad to compete with both Manchester clubs for the league title this season.
“We’ve had two unexpected injuries with Mertesacker and Gabriel, and Koscielny came back very late so we are in a hard position for Sunday’s game against Liverpool”, Wenger said.

The Gunners boss insists that his players have prepared well during pre-season, and says expectations are high among the group to achieve something in 2016/17.
