Wes Morgan is backing Premier League leaders Leicester to bounce back from their “disappointing” last-minute defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Welbeck ended a 10-month injury absence when he returned to action as a late substitute against Leicester and headed a last-gasp goal to earn his side a priceless three points.

“Everyone is extremely happy for him because he’s been out for 10 months”.

With Coquelin and Welbeck back and Wilshere and Cazorla on the way, it will be like having four new signings to help us on the way. We’re a team that likes to counterattack with pace and power and you need to have the legs and the energy to do that. It’s the first time in my career that I’ve missed so much football. We limited them from countering and that was the important thing.

“I think they are better teams”, the noticeably irritated Chilean said.

Leicester took the lead just before half-time through a Jamie Vardy penalty, his 19th league goal of the season. Messi was set to take the spot-kick himself, but he just rolled the ball to the side for the inrushing Suarez to drive it home.

Arsenal felt hard done by after its earlier penalty appeal when Oxlade-Chamberlain’s cross into the box was blocked by the arm of N’Golo Kante was rejected by referee Martin Atkinson.

Theo Walcott levelled the score in the 70th minute, actually from Arsenal’s first shot on target.

It was all Arsenal now, but with Leicester showing the resilience which has so impressed this season, until Arsene Wenger threw on Welbeck and he repaid his faith.

“It will strengthen our belief that we are in the fight”.

Arsenal then host Barcelona on Tuesday of next week in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League showdown, before travelling to Manchester United for their next Premier League match five days later.

However clubs’ bonus structures have to be finalised by the end of the summer transfer window for the season ahead meaning Leicester’s plans are likely to put them in breach of Premier League rules.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 12 away league games.

Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho made it 1-1 in the 74th.

Danny Welbeck’s victor deep into stoppage time punctured the rapidly building excitement around Leciester’s unlikely bid for glory that was bolstered by impressive triumphs against Liverpool and fourth-placed City.

“The first problem is our team”, City manager Manuel Pellegrini said.
