Arsene Wenger was impressed by the way Arsenal brought a tough week to a convincing end at Hull.

Arsene Wenger revealed that Santi Cazorla should have taken Arsenal’s penalty against Hull City on Saturday, rather than Alexis Sanchez who instead took the spot-kick and saw his effort saved by goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic.
The Switzerland global came on for the latter with 25 minutes remaining, and he left it late to make his big introduction as he put the gloss on a superb Arsenal win with a 30-yard screamer minutes from time. I don’t know why it did not happen; we have [a] pecking order, it was not planned for Sanchez to take it. “We weren’t ready physically at the start of the season, we are now much better so let’s hope we can continue”. Overall anyone can miss a penalty, we have to accept that.
“I have to check that but I think Santi was at the head of the list”, said Wenger after the game. Did he not want to, did he (Cazorla) tell Sanchez?
The Gunners started the season with a home defeat to Liverpool and then a draw at Leicester.
“He can break the lines with a pass and individually as well, so there’s a lot in the locker”. Here are five things we learned from Saturday’s win.
“And he’s one of the players who, for the quality of his runs and the quality of his interceptions, is very risky”. It’s an away game, so you are happy with the three points.
Livermore was sent off for deliberate handball shortly before half-time, only for Sanchez to miss the ensuing penalty.
Phelan is leaning towards taking the job, with an announcement expected by the middle of next week. So overall I think we responded well.
“An offer has been made but it came 36-48 hours ago and in the build-up to this game so it was put to one side”.
“I’ve now got to read those terms and have a good look at them tomorrow”.
