Arsene Wenger hit out at Norwich and defender Ryan Bennett for pushing Alexis Sanchez into a camera pit, fuming: He could have killed him.

Arsene Wenger insists Santi Cazorla will miss only a maximum of four months after undergoing knee surgery, although some report he could be out for the season.

Arsenal have a number of key players injured at the moment and questions have been raised about Wenger’s rationale in choosing not to bolster his squad in the summer after signing Petr Cech from Chelsea.

“I prefer to be back in the middle of the pitch, that is where I feel more comfortable and feel like I play my best football”, said Ramsey who scored in Saturday’s win.

With central midfielders Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, and Tomas Rosicky also injured, and star winger Alexis Sanchez out with a hamstring problem, Cazorla’s setback leaves Arsenal short heading into the hectic spell of games before and during the festive period.

“We got off to a good win today for December and hopefully we can continue this and keep ourselves in the hunt for the league and to hopefully qualify for the Champions League as well”.

“I would have rested him but he felt perfectly all right before the game and he declared that he had no problem”, Wenger said. Guidance to clubs is that camera positions should be 2.25 metres from the field of play where possible.

Wenger also said that Arsenal are waiting to discover the extent of Santi Cazorla’s knee injury, with the Spaniard set to see a specialist in the coming days. “He could have killed him”, Wenger said.

Bennett saw fit to apologise to Piers Morgan over the incident, which tells you everything you need to know about the Norwich player.

“We know now. It has occurred already”. That injury can come from that as well. “I do, but there was not an obvious mistake to select him before the game”. “That is the biggest problem in our sport, you lose confidence in your body”.
