Wenger: Top Three Finish Important For Arsenal

Consecutive draws had all but ended Arsenal’s chances of overhauling Premier League leaders Leicester City and they began the night only a point above fifth-placed Manchester United in the battle to secure Champions League football. In a season where Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and even Liverpool have shown themselves to be unworthy, the Gunners should have taken the prize by default.

The 21-year-old, who has enjoyed an impressive campaign, told the club’s website: “I feel very proud about the award”.

Asked for a message to fans, Wenger said: “Come and support the team”.
