Wenger will take train to Stoke despite fan abuse last season

Last year, of course, not only did Stoke win, but some Arsenal traveling fans decided that it’d be fun to verbally abuse Arsene Wenger as they all waited for the train after the game.

Many have urged Wenger to bring in a striker in the January transfer window to aid their Premier League title pursuit, but the Arsenal manager has revealed that Welbeck is coming back soon.

“When Arsenal come to town the crowd are always behind us, the circumstances of the game are always exciting so I’m looking forward to a really impressive game”.

“The only question mark is Sanchez”, Wenger said.

Arsenal have struggled at the Britannia Stadium against physical Stoke sides in recent years and have bad memories from last season’s trip there.

Attack: Alexis Sanchez faces a late fitness test but I expect the Chilean global to be passed fit and start in attack after recovering from a hamstring injury.

“It is a good challenge for us as well because they have to maintain their record and we can show we have taken a big step forward and can beat them”. There is a possibility he is in the squad on Sunday. “He has two decisive days – Friday and Saturday”, Wenger told reporters on Friday.

But just as during those title-winning years of more than a decade ago, Wenger has a bit of “street” in his own team again – a battle-hardened spine with enough Premier League savvy to look after the team. Klopp has made a habit of asserting his larger than life personality on proceedings in the Premier League and was recently involved in a war of words with Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce.

“I’ve trained with him and he’s a good player, very talented but first of all he is a good guy – I think he will settle well into the team”, Giroud told his club’s official website.

“It’s fair to say we have changed targets in terms of what we think we can achieve this year, that’s not necessarily saying we are going for the Champions League at all but you never know, it’s one of those seasons”. I will miss everything here – the club, the players, the board and the fans.

“He’s a defensive midfielder who can contribute in an area where we are short”, added Wenger.

“I was sad and upset more by the result than the individual reactions of people, who I can understand”, Wenger said.
