Wentz On Time With Bradford, Facing Vikings Defense

How Vikings will do on Sunday at Philadelphia against the Eagles remains to be witnessed, but Zimmer already likes what he sees after the his men reassembled on Monday for their first practice since Tuesday.

The Vikings (5-0) paid a steep price for Bradford on September 3.

“It was really good to work with him, and I’m looking forward to seeing him again and playing against him”, he added.

“At the end of the day in the National Football League, there’s no real secrets with offense”, Wentz said.

Daniel said he thinks Bradford’s familiarity with the Eagles’ defensive personnel probably gives him more of an advantage than the defense. We just go week-to-week. I honestly still haven’t sat down and thought it all the way through.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer knows all of this, but he’s not taking the bait.

In an on-screen graphic promoting next weekend’s games, Fox featured action photos of Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford and Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz grasping footballs, ready to pass. “I think it showed up on the field”.

“It’s disappointing”, Zimmer said, “and that’s one of the things that I’m trying to get rid of around here, making sure that our fans are being represented in the right way”. And he utilizes the quick game and it’s tough to defend sometimes from a pass-rush standpoint. “This is something that we did a year ago that”™s now part of our offense.”™ “. You also, in all likelihood wouldn’t have said Bradford would succeed as quickly as he has, to the extent that he has, considering the line he’s playing behind.

“As far as thinking I could end up here, it never crossed my mind”. With Bridgewater’s injury, Bradford was granted the thing he needed the most, a change of scenery and he has made the most of it.

To be fair, very few people expected Wentz to have the red-hot start that he had after being named the starter for the Eagles. What that meant for the Eagles was that they committed to starting 2nd overall draft pick Carson Wentz at QB. Our focus is just getting ready for the Vikings as a team.

But the Eagles’ decision to deal Bradford to Minnesota stripped his momentum, and separated him from the teammates he bonded with. Insane weather on the East Coast caused the Monday Night Football game between the two teams to be played on Tuesday night, and the Vikings were forced to start Joe Webb at quarterback after injuries to both Brett Favre and Tarvaris Jackson. “We”™re just here to try and help the Minnesota Vikings win and do our jobs.”. “So that’s why I’m just trying to treat it like any other game”. There were some things that I saw that we had to correct quickly. Defensively, the Vikings are yielding 12.6 points and 287.6 total yards (209.8 in passing and 77.8 in rushing) per game against the opposing teams.

“Sam obviously has a good understanding and knowledge of what we do on both sides of the ball”.

Even when the Eagles got points in the first half the defense was right back out there as the touchdowns came on a kickoff return by Wendell Smallwood and a pick-6 by Malcolm Jenkins. “I could tell early on that he wanted to be great, that he was committed to coming in every day and working really hard”.

This is really the first time Bradford has been on a good team. “So I sort of knew what the plays were in terms of what the quarterback was asked to do”.
