Werder Bremen have sacked coach Viktor Skripnik after the club were left bottom of the Bundesliga following their third straight loss on Saturday.

His assistant coaches, Florian Kohfeldt and ex-Germany global Torsten Frings, have also left the club.
Under-23 coach Alexander Nouri will stand-in as first team coach until a successor is found for Skripnik, a former Ukranian worldwide who helped Werder to a league and cup double as a player in 2004. “More information to follow”.
Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann says “We decided for this step because we weren’t convinced after the performance in ‘Gladbach that the turnaround could be achieved quickly in the current constellation”. “We want to thank Viktor and his assistant coaches for their work in the past years”.
Now rock bottom of the Bundesliga table, with an appalling goal difference of minus ten, Werder Bremen have been limping around with a whole host of injuries to the likes of Max Kruse, Niklas Moisander and Fin Bartels, who are set to be vital cogs in their wheel this season.
After a 6-0 hammering at Bayern Munich in the opening game of the season, Bremen were beaten 2-1 at home by Augsburg and then demolished by Gladbach.

Die Werdener narrowly escaped relegation last term but have failed to take any momentum into the new campaign, losing all three of their games, including Saturday’s 4-1 reverse at Borussia Monchengladbach.
