It refers to logical decision by West Bengal Assembly to remove confusing prefix “West” from English name of the State.

Representatives of the state at both the bureaucratic as well as at the political level found themselves speaking at the fag end of national level meetings simply because the W of West Bengal featured way down the alphabetical order.

At least six persons have died of dengue this monsoon season in West Bengal after which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued instructions to remove the stagnant water in urban areas so that mosquito larvae can not breed.
