West Brom boss Pulis backing Tottenham to overcome Leicester

It’s a gutting feeling. “I think we deserved the three points but we have no complaints and we have to be strong in the mind and prepare for the next game against Chelsea”. We can’t just fold.

“We felt comfortable on the pitch and created chances, but we lost control of the game and allowed them to create chances”.

“They’d have to lose two and draw one and we’d have to win all three”. As he faces the side he dreamed of joining, he will look to prove a point to Daniel Levy as to why he should possibly go back for him in the summer. It’s up to them what they say, we can’t do anything about that.

“I know they will be disappointed but they still have a chance, Leicester still have to get the points and Tottenham are capable of winning all three games”.

The hosts had already struck the woodwork twice before that opener, and did so for a third time in the second period through Erik Lamela as the Spurs’ frustration gradually increased.

Pulis commended his players for the fight shown in the second half, especially after the disappointment of losing 2-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates last Thursday.

In Star Sport, Spurs simply “blow it”, and Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany stresses the importance of stopping Cristiano Ronaldo as Real Madrid and Manchester City clash at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

“We felt we could easily have won the game if we played in the second half like we did the first”.

“Of course we’re disappointed”. “No complaints. We are very proud since the start of the season of how we have played and worked”. “They want to waste time, they want get into the referee, but that’s football”.

“There’s nothing we can do about that – we’ve got to learn to cope”. They’ve got top quality players, they’ve got pace, that’s the biggest thing, they’ve got experience at the back, and it seems to have all fallen together nicely for them.

“We have to cope with that”.

“It was just one of those games”.

“There’s nothing we can do about [their comments]”. We’ll do what we can.

“It isn’t down to us”. It is true that it is very hard, more difficult than before the game.

Just one more win will seal the title for Leicester and it would now take a remarkable turnaround for Spurs to claim a first championship since 1961. Hopefully Manchester United can do us a favour.

“We’ve been doing it all season”.

“It’s so disappointing. At that moment, it just hit me”, said the 27-year-old.
