Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy (L) wins the ball from West Bromwich Albion’s Gareth McAuley (R) during their English Premier League football match at the King Power Stadium in Leicester on Tuesday.

“We are confident. Of course we are confident that we can repeat the final season as we did last season, we’ll try to do our best”.

“It was a fantastic match and I am very pleased with our performance”, Ranieri said. “We are alive and our spirit is ready to fight again. I want you to remember where we started”.

Schwarzer has played three times in the Capital One Cup this season and featured in five Premier League games last season when Schmeichel was injured.

Bottom club Aston Villa were beaten 3-1 at home by Everton, as their slow and painful march towards relegation continued, while Sunderland salvaged a point from their game against Crystal Palace with a last gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Ranieri revealed earlier this week that Kante would miss two games, but the Leicester boss now says the summer signing from Caen may be available sooner than anticipated.

King said: “We’re enjoying the ride and we know we are a good match for anyone. Until the end, every match is important to us”. I wonder who will be stronger in the upcoming fight?

However, Spurs will now have the chance to move level with the Foxes when they take on West Ham United at Upton Park, while the Gunners will hope to get back on track and close the gap when they entertain Swansea City.

Gardner’s brilliant free-kick earned a battling draw for West Brom who are 13th in the table and 12 points clear of the bottom three.

“We don’t think about it, we are thinking about what we are doing well and badly”.

The 24-year-old Frenchman, a driving force in Leicester’s surge to the top of the table, sustained a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Norwich City.

Leicester’s Shinji Okazaki heads the ball towards the West Brom goal at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester, however, are not any other team, and Claudio Ranieri’s boundless energy and positivity drives their title charge on pure motivation alone.

But while Ranieri played down his side’s chances of winning the league, he insisted the Foxes need to show they can cope with the added attention they are receiving.
