West Brom draw could be ‘very special moment’ for Liverpool – Klopp

Having dominated for much of the first half and gone ahead through captain Jordan Henderson, a mistake from Simon Mignolet allowed West Brom to equalise, and take momentum into the remaining 45 minutes.

To pile on more bad news for the Reds, Dejan Lovren was carried off on a stretcher after a bad tackle from Gardner with 15 minutes to go – to be replaced by Origi.

Klopp refused to criticise Gardner for his challenge or expand on his disagreement with Pulis.

Charismatic German Klopp has proven a huge hit among both players and supporters at Anfield since taking over from Brendan Rodgers a little over two months ago.

The Croatia worldwide left Anfield on crutches and will have his leg examined on Monday after he was stretchered off in the 2-2 draw at Anfield and Klopp said: “We hope it is not too serious”. We saw the situation: anything could happen in this situation, but hopefully there will be more luck than in our last situations like this. Do with this what you want. I can say nothing.

“Sometimes a point deserved in the right way is more important. It was not a friendly game”.

Liverpool have won seven of their 13 games with Klopp at the helm, including emphatic victories at Chelsea, Manchester City and Southampton.

Liverpool rescue a point in the 95th minute of the game at Anfield.

And with three wins and just two defeats away from the Hawthorns, Albion will fancy their chances of getting a result against a side they’ve tasted defeat to just three times in their past nine league meetings. Gardner has played the ball.

That promoted a huge reaction from Klopp, and at the final whistle he took his players to The Kop and they linked hands to thank the fans.

“We stayed in the game, had a few moments where we not so good, but only set plays that cost us”. I enjoyed the atmosphere with my whole body. I have no problems with that.

“We’ve come here and tried to be competitive and resilient”. “Of course, people are disappointed, but they didn’t let us feel that”.

But West then called referee Craig Pawson over towards him and, after a delay, the goal was disallowed.

The Reds keeper attempted to punch clear Brunt’s deep corner, but missed completely, and after Salomon Rondon had kept the ball alive, Dawson volleyed home.

While the Reds are still an outside bet for the big prize, they should seriously be earmarking a place back amongst Europe’s elite with qualification to the Champions League surely in reach.
