The Spain worldwide was lucky to remain on the pitch after catching the keeper with his studs showing, and went on to score the winning goal one minute from time.
And, to rub salt into West Ham’s wounds, Costa popped up in the 89th minute to score the victor and deny Slaven Bilic’s side a point. “It needs to be seen, that people target me”.
By the end of the half, Diego Costa and Willian both had opportunities to put Chelsea ahead.
“It is not every year I score in my first game so that is good”.
“Nine times out of 10 you see that challenge and get one (a yellow card) – unfortunately this was the 10th time”.
The 27-year-old is aware of the new rule in the league that gives the referee a permission to book a player who’s complaining or speaking very aggressively towards an official, but thinks he’s still treated much more strictly.
Chelsea’s Oscar saw his claim for a penalty kick turned away by referee Anthony Taylor when he appeared to tumble after colliding with defender Winston Reid. This news story is related to Print/143026-Late-Costa-strike-gives-Conte-winning-Chelsea-debut/ – breaking news, latest news, pakistan ne.
The Croatian was magnanimous enough to concede that Chelsea’s victory was “deserved”.
Conte, in the meantime, said after the West Ham clash that Fabregas still has a future at Stamford Bridge. A “great talent” with a “fantastic attitude” was his Italian coach’s evaluation.
“We know that we can improve and we must improve a lot with the work”. And with me (were) my wife and my daughter.
West Ham’s resistance was broken two minutes into the second half after Cesar Azpilicueta charged down an attempted clearance by Michail Antonio on the edge of the visitors’ box.
Antonio Conte believes Chelsea can emulate his former club Juventus as he looks to make them title contenders again, but warned that success will take time. “We relied on him too much last season and he can’t do it all on his own even though he nearly does”, Terry was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.
