The 40-minute delay to the start of the second T20 global between India and the West Indies at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, followed by a 20-minute shower burst ended with the match getting abandoned and India losing the series 0-1.
Earlier, Evin Lewis smashed an impressive century as West Indies piled up the third highest ever Twenty20 worldwide total of 245-6 against India. The match will begin at 7:30 this evening Indian Time. The side is predominantly made up of all-rounders with Sunil Narine and Samuel Badree as the only specialist bowlers. Kieron Pollard took Darren Sammy’s place.
In the last nine overs, West Indies scored just 54 runs and losing six wickets to end their innings at 143.
Virat Kohli is now 52 runs behind Chris Gayle’s record for most runs in a calendar year and he will be hoping to get into his groove, soon.

K.L. Rahul was unbeaten on 110 in just his fourth T20I, hitting 12 fours and five sixes.
It was the fifth fastest T20 worldwide century.
India produced an inspiring bowling performance in the second T20 worldwide against West Indies to bowl them out for 143 on a slow yet good batting track in Florida.
Although, West Indies won the first match, but they failed to contain the Indian batsman and they must not underestimate the potential of Indians.
Evin Lewis was named the man of the match thanks to his century but India were not to be outdone when it came to their batting as they had KL Rahul smashing a century of his own.
The earlier highest number of sixes in an innings was 19 hit by Netherlands against Ireland in 2014.
The Caribbean side had piled up 245 on Saturday in what was the third highest total of all time. But I think for spectators they just love the fact that so many boundaries got hit and so many sixes happened in the game.
At one time, it looked like the West Indians would run away with the highest ever T20 worldwide score as they reached 199 for 1 at the end of 15 overs but India made fine a comeback in the final five overs, conceding just 46 runs and taking five wickets in the process.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (67th) and Mohammad Shami (82nd) were the others to move up the bowlers’ rankings for India.
Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each.
Charles’ 33-ball knock was laced with six boundaries and seven massive sixes and his partnership with Lewis produced 126 runs.
The carnage started from the word go as the opening duo of Johnson Charles (79) and Lewis clobbered pacer Mohammed Shami for a six and two fours in the opening over.
