Last year, Mississippi had 43 cases and seven deaths linked to the virus. The District will conduct truck-mounted adult mosquito treatment around the detection site in an effort to prevent human cases of WNV.

“The most effective way to protect yourself and your family against West Nile Virus is to take precautions against mosquito bites.”.

“Historically, this the time of year when we see the number of West Nile Virus cases begin to increase”.
