“To date, in the state of CT, we have had 130 cases of West Nile virus with 3 fatalities”. In 2015, 17 samples out of 713 tested positive.

Mild illnesses may include headache, body aches, vomiting or rash.
However, there are possibilities of becoming severely ill from the virus, especially for people over 50 years old and those with weakened immune systems. Anyone who experiences these symptoms should consult their health care providers. Consequently, the city of Aurora began spraying in that area Friday evening to control the mosquito population.
“The Department of Public Health considers the West Nile virus to be present in all the towns in MA at low levels, so now we’re at the point where we can see if we’ll get more positives from that place”, said Sakolsky. We should also use insect repellent that has DEET in it.
State officials have not disclosed the identity of the sufferer, but it is announced that the resident is an older adult living in Livingston County. Lemon eucalyptus oil should not be used on children under three years old.
