West Virginia: Armed Teenager Holds Teacher, Students Hostage at High School
Woofter said the teacher talked the boy into not allowing the next group of students to enter the classroom. All other students were evacuated and negotiators were dispatched to the scene. Alerted by those students, another teacher told school administrators, who then called 911.

The teenager later released them unharmed after police negotiations and surrendered, authorities said. No injuries have been reported.
Students were evacuated when the school was placed on lockdown.
Barbour County Prosecutor Leckta Poling wouldn’t specify what charges would be brought against the male student. Poling said because the case involved a juvenile, the court process would be closed. Police haven’t identified the student, reports U.S. News. Authorities said the episode lasted two and a half hours. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Saltis advised The Related Press by phone that his daughter attends the varsity. After further negotiations, the suspect put the gun down and surrendered to law enforcement without further incident, State Police. However Saltis says regulation enforcement officers informed him nothing whereas the suspect was nonetheless within the faculty.
Baylous thanked parents of students for keeping their composure during the frightening ordeal. “That’s the way it works”.
Baylous says he has no details or description of the suspect, saying it was someone believed to have a gun. No one was hurt in the incident which began at around 1:30 p.m.at Philip Barbour High School, about 30 miles southeast of Clarksburg, state police said.

Baylous says the suspect was isolated inside the school.
