West Virginia ready for test from turnover-prone Maryland
And how can we look for those outlier teams from the get-go next year? They will be going in hostile territory as they face their longtime rival the West Virginia Mountaineers. And 2-0 ATS Navy hasn’t played three games yet; worthy of inclusion into this discussion. Caleb Rowe is completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 314 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.

“I’m sure people thought, ‘Oh, God, here we go, ‘” head coach Randy Edsall said after the game. “We’re seeing movement up front from defenses, we’re seeing blitzes, but I think our guys have handled them pretty well and we have another tough test this Saturday against West Virginia”. West Virginia is still being West Virginia on offense when the Terrapins run into a Big 12 offensive line and very mobile Skyler Howard they can’t get past so they turn this thing into a shootout. This ends with it’s veteran secondary giving up a touchdown to Shelton Gibson in the final 12 seconds of the game sealing the deal for West Virginia.
As the season continues, we can only assume things will continue to improve for Maryland’s offense and its new quarterback.
Howard has solidified himself as Dana Holgorsen’s starting quarterback. But the offense moved the chains and the running game was better with the threat of the pass. There was a 70-yard strike to Taivon Jacobs and a thread-the-needle, 12-yard TD to tight end Avery Edwards.
Edsall was even-handed in his praise and critique of Rowe.
-C Evan Mulrooney and the reshuffled offensive line will be key.
The first game between these two was played in Morgantown and saw the Mountaineers beat the Twerps, 27-0, with WVU’s Rat Rodgers having another one of his dominant performances. Likely will impact the game here but possibly also as a return man. He has two punt returns for a score and is risky on kickoff returns, too. Rowe has thrown eight picks in his last four games. Maryland can be run heavy and will look to make West Virginia respect it’s 203.7 yards per game.
“They have really high motors”.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va.- The West Virginia University baseball team began its fall practice last week, and while these games may not count on the season, they could be very beneficial to this Mountaineers’ baseball team.
Why did it take Edsall two games to figure out that it was Rowe and not Perry Hills who was the future for Maryland at the quarterback position this year. “Caleb has the arm to be able to do that and there’s guys there who can make the plays if they get the ball”.
Maryland might have to be flawless as a team to escape hostile Mountaineer Field with a win. It is our goal to get to 3-0.
Moore had three catches for a career-best 47 yards against South Florida while making his first career start. No one would fault Davis had he suffered from déjà vu at that moment, one week after he was targeted repeatedly against Bowling Green.
The celebration after Edwards’ second touchdown was a little more muted, though.
-DT Adam McLean, a top local recruit, is no longer enrolled at Maryland because of an “initial NCAA eligibility issue”.
Team chemistry is important to any good team, whether it be baseball, hockey, basketball or football.

-RB Wes Brown had just one rush against USF, ejected from the game after a first half personal foul “targeting” helmet on helmet hit while making a tackle on an interception. While the Mountaineers haven’t played a good team yet, I don’t have much confidence that the Terps can hang in this matchup against a rested WVU squad.
