Charlie Sheen, famous for “Wall Street”, “Two and a Half Men” and “Anger Management”, has revealed in an interview with Today that he is HIV positive.

In a November 17 interview on NBC’s “Today”, the 50-year-old actor said he tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS.

During his interview with Lauer, Sheen said he did not know how he became infected by HIV and admitted to having unprotected sex with two women since his diagnosis, but said it was “impossible” it could have been transmitted to anyone else.

I believe it is right for someone to disclose their (HIV) status, but I don’t think it’s fair for us to say the person must disclose… everyone has his right.

Unlike the others who bravely revealed their HIV secret, Anthony Perkins died in the year 1992 without telling he had AIDS.

Olson’s relationship Sheen was confirmed in March 2011. Last year, ex-wife Brooke Mueller was granted full custody of her twin boys with Sheen.

He said he was diagnosed about four years ago.

He said he had confided to a few of those he’s had sexual contact with but then they started extorting him. He didn’t come out to help others who share his diagnosis, but rather, he came out to save face and money.

Olympian Greg Louganis, who has been living with HIV for 27 years, tells FOX411 that Charlie Sheen’s HIV admission opened a ‘line of communication’.

Charlie made the announcement during a live chat with Matt Lauer on Tuesday morning and said it was a way he could “release” himself “from this prison”.

Sheen said he is healthy and is taking medications.

“I have a lot of empathy for anyone that struggles with addiction”.

By the time former “Who’s the Boss?” child star Daniel Pintauro discovered he was HIV-positive in March 2003, he knew it wasn’t a death sentence. “It’s me. Seriously”, he said. “Its a turning point in one’s life”.

He said he had paid “enough to bring it into the millions” – perhaps as much as $10 million – to buy their silence. According to the CDC, “if you take PrEP daily, the presence of the medicine in your bloodstream can often stop HIV from taking hold and spreading in your body”.

After publicly dissing his boss and co-workers in 2011, he was sacked from his million-dollar-an-episode gig on Two and a Half Men and went rogue.

Revealing HIV-positive status is still a “big deal” for any celebrity.
