The U.S. Attorney’s Office is holding a press conference at 10:30 a.m.to announce the arrest of a person accused of attempting to support a terrorist organization as a result of this search. Once seized, investigators found a conversation from August 2013 between Nagi and an individual identified as “Nada” on his iPhone that referenced a trip Nagi took to Turkey in October 2012.

The man had traveled to Turkey to try to join the terrorist group, the Buffalo News reported, citing a source knowledgeable of the arrest. It was described during Wednesday’s press conference how Isis and similar organizations due much of their recruitment and offer support from overseas via social media, including Twitter. A raid was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation at his Olcott Street home in Lackawanna early Wednesday morning. Nagi’s daughter ran inside her home and called 911.
Nagi had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and community members said he had jihadi beliefs, court documents said. Agents were aware the children were there before they entered.
Wednesday’s arrest was not Nagi’s first brush with law enforcement.
It’s one block away from a home where two members of the Lackawanna 6 lived. “I’m trying to figure out what’s going on”.
