Weymouth police officer shoots woman who refused to drop knife
Weymouth Police said they arrived to find a 46-year-old woman who ignored the responding officer’s orders to drop her knife.

A mother had reported her daughter was trying to kill herself with a knife.
The woman was reportedly armed with a knife, and followed an officer waving the knife at him. Police described her as “hysterical”, but did not provide any identifying information.
A Weymouth woman is being treated at a local hospital after being shot by police when she allegedly brandished a knife and ignored officers’ orders, police said.
Police said the officer fired his gun once, striking the woman in the abdomen area.
The woman was taken to South Shore Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
The woman, whose name was not immediately released, is charged with assault with a unsafe weapon.

The shooting remains under investigation by detectives and investigators with the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, cops said.
