Women’s basketball prelims continue, as team U.S. takes on Serbia in search of its 44th straight Olympic victory. With 25 medals overall, Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time – and has won more than twice as many medals than the next top medal victor, who has just nine.

Athletes continue to break records this Olympics: Kazakhstan’s Dmitriy Balandin won his country’s first gold medal in swimming, and Michael Phelps keeps adding to his medal count as the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time. However, there is a whole lot more that athletes can gain if they win a gold medal for their country. She won in the 200 meter freestyle.

Rounding out the top five with the most medals are China, Japan, Russia and Australia. Nathan Adrian is hoping to bring home his second gold of the game when he swims in the men’s 100 meter freestyle final. “It’s a historical moment in sports, for women in the Summer Games, in the U.S”.
