What are the enhancements in the new Google Chromecast?
Internally, the device has a lot of changes as well, the tech site says, including support for faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Spotify is apparently preparing an app to work with Chromecast Audio, which will be unveiled alongside the TV stick later this month. A couple of months ago Google launched the Chromecast Ethernet and PSU adapter – targeting what is often considered to be the Chromecast’s weakest link – its Wi-Fi performance.

Lastly, the new Chromecast will now support “feeds” onto the Chromecast backdrop, though what type of feeds – New, Social etc. – hasn’t been clarified.
According to exclusive images obtained by 9to5Google, Google has drastically changed the design of the upcoming device that deviates heavily from the current dongle form factor.
The 2nd generation Chromecast, which – for the record – we’ve only seen referred to as the “new Chromecast”, is also going to include support for content feeds on the Chromecast home screen. The “Fast Play” option will also be included here, which is supposed to speed up the whole streaming process (mainly the start of it).
Although it was initially rumoured to be development of launching two new Nexus smartphones, a new report claims that Google will unveil the anticipated 2nd generation Chromecast at the Nexus event on September 29. Another thing mention in the report is “Chromecast Audio“, which is supposed to let you plug this device into more or less any speaker via an AUX cable in order to listen to music. This is unlike the existing feature Google Cast for Audio which essentially is Google’s platform for making speakers and other audio hardware directly compatible with the Chromecast protocols.

It also looks like Google could be planning to launch another device called Chromecast Audio.
