What Broncos fans are saying about the home team’s QB
McCown was given second life in overtime when linebacker Barkevious Mingo, who has been a non-factor more often than not during his short Cleveland career, left his feet to intercept Manning on the first drive of the extra period.

Denver Broncos vs Cleveland Browns: Live Stream, TV Schedule, Time and Predictions Referring to Josh McCown’s performance last week as Peyton Manning-like wouldn’t mean what it used to, given how Manning has struggled in new coach Gary Kubiak’s offense. Denver is now 6-0 heading into a bye week despite only scoring one offensive touchdown in its past two games. Injuries to key players CB Joe Haden (concussion) and S Tashaun Gipson (ankle) have been most notable as they are out. “They clearly made more plays than we did to win the game, but I truly in my heart feel like we are the ones that beat ourselves, more so than the Broncos beating us”. The Broncos have depth at the pass rusher position, however, and should be able to maintain that pressure on Josh McCown.
Brandon McManus’ 34-yard field goal with 4:56 remaining kept the Broncos as one of the NFL’s undefeated teams and dropped the Browns to 2-4 on the season.
Steve Smith Sr., 36, said he’s retiring after the season, and he missed the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 5 game with four broken bones in his back.
With the game tied at 23 and 90 seconds left on the clock, Manning and the Broncos had possession of the ball on the Denver 23-yard line. Unfortunately, the Broncos were were unable to capitalized off his efforts and score no points of their own in the first half. Nine yards for a viable shot at the game-wining field goal. Barrett recovered the fumble to set up a 25-yard field goal by McManus. They also came up with a big sack in overtime after a turnover by the offense, giving their team another chance to win.
“We discussed it. It was at that fringe time on our notes, whether to do it. Obviously, knowing the end of the movie, now you would have liked to kick it. We felt good about the decision to go for two, but unfortunately, we didn’t convert”. Manning is one of the four starting quarterbacks with more interceptions than touchdown passes. However, if the Broncos record is not that good, he would have benched Manning already. But, the defense held and the Browns offense knelt to go into overtime.
McCown wasn’t done just yet. Whichever way Denver chooses, it is a huge challenge for an offense. “It’s going to get going, and then people can ask about something else”.
“The defense played lights out”.
All these years later, Browns coach Mike Pettine still can’t shake the gnawing memories of a playoff matchup against Peyton Manning.
Two plays later, McCown scrambled to his right for a gain of 11 yards. The team is now 2-4 in the updated National Football League standings and quickly falling out of the playoff race.
Near flawless? Throw it quick and the Broncos’ defensive backs cover receivers step for step. The bright spot on the offensive side of the ball in the first half was Ronnie Hillman, who had a handful of quality runs totalling 59 yards that helped move the Broncos down the field. Perhaps no one is better at channeling that mindset than an National Football League quarterback who must be able to bounce back and play at a high level no matter what happened five seconds earlier.
By then, the Browns’ defense was cooked spaghetti – physically and emotionally spent.
Hillman rushed for 111 yards on 20 carries.

At a few point this season, Peyton Manning’s inability to lead the Broncos offense down the field on a consistent basis will cost his team a game.
