What did Star Wars fans think of The Force Awakens? (No spoilers)

A galaxy of stars has walked the red carpet for the European premier of the latest “Star Wars” installment in London on Wednesday.

After the film: I think it was better than it had a right to be, it turned out to be all right.

The film, which comes out in the United States on December 18, has received near-universal acclaim, although many fans are purposely avoiding the reviews, for fear of dreaded spoilers.

So I stayed overnight and the next day I was in the same room as these legends and new people who will go on to be legends themselves. “It is Fandango’s top-selling movie of all time, even before it has even hit theatre screens”, said Fandango President Paul Yanover.

Starting at 4 a.m. Thursday, the Warren will host a movie marathon, off all Star Wars films, leading up the 7 p.m. premiere of “The Force Awakens”.

Meanwhile Carrie, who returns as Princess Leia in The Force Awakens, has had decades to get used to seeing her image on the film’s merchandise. “But I am confident that… the president will at some point see the movie”, spokesman Josh Earnest said.

I hope it will be exciting I know some of the old cast will be in it and I hope to see all of them in all of their glory in the new Star Wars movie.

In fact Rob Weiner, the “Pop Culture Librarian” at Texas Tech University, says this may be the last big time Hollywood premiere ever. “I got into it when I was six”, he said. I always expected they would live on in books and even cartoons, but a movie seemed out of the question.

The Force Awakens is the first part of the third Star Wars trilogy, announced after Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in October 2012 and the first new instalment since Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith released in 2005.
