What exactly does Kaine bring to the Democratic ticket?

In lieu of Scott’s speech, convention chair Rep. Marsha Fudge (Ohio) mentioned Kaine’s name, then quickly moved into a voice vote to officially nominate Kaine as Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s running mate. “As a bullish Larry Sabato, who runs the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, wrote in the Washington Post, “[With] Kaine on the ticket, Virginia can probably retire its swing state jersey for this year”.

Richards, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, praised Kaine as a “man who has been a champion for women and families his entire career”. He saw a parallel between Kaine’s decision after law school to do missionary work in Honduras with Clinton’s path from law school to advocacy in the U.S.at the Children’s Defense Fund. He’s held executive office since 1998, when he was elected mayor of Richmond, Virginia.

“He (Bloomberg) will talk about the reason he has come to the conclusion that Hillary Clinton is the right choice to be a stable leader on economic matters, and why Donald Trump through his life in business is incapable of managing the economy, let alone his own affairs”, Podesta said.

One of the biggest issues liberals have taken with Kaine is his stance on trade – the senator supported the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the trade deal that both Trump and Vermont Sen. Tim Kaine, for doing a awful job as governor of New Jersey. The former president called his wife, who has also been a USA senator, a dynamic force for change.

Earlier in the day, Trump said: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”. He was referring to emails on Hillary Clinton’s private server as secretary of state that she said she deleted – because they were private – before turning other messages over to the State Department. Putin has won three presidential elections, most recently in 2012.

In a 2014 interview with Politico, Kaine said that he and hardline conservative Ted Cruz, the Texas senator who was runner-up in this year’s GOP presidential contest, “get along great”.

Bloomberg says at the Democratic National Convention that the country must unite around Clinton because she can “defeat a risky demagogue”.

“I didn’t start it with a million dollar check from my father”.
