The company unveiled the “Homepod” Monday, a voice-activated, internet-connected speaker that expands usage of the company’s Siri voice assistant.

The issue is over the fact that both Apple and Amazon want to create walled gardens for people to experience entertainment in their homes. The Sonos sounded OK, but the sound wasn’t almost as rich as the HomePod.
Prospero said the HomePod is worthy of your attention. With HomePod, only after “Hey Siri” is recognised locally on the device will any information be sent to Apple servers, encrypted and sent using an anonymous Siri identifier.

Siri serves as the brains for HomePod.
Apple’s use of the concept sounds closer to what B&O has tried in the past, with microphones used to change the profile of the speaker, a technology called “Adaptive Sound Technology” that has been used on numerous products in the BeoLab series.
But this WWDC also saw the launch of several new hardware.
Schiller had much less to say about HomePod’s broader Siri smarts, although the product page on Apple’s website hints that it can perform numerous smart-home tasks that an Amazon Echo or Google Home can do.
The HomePod will be just under 7in high and houses the company’s virtual assistant, Siri. “In fact, Apple nearly positioned as something that’s not that important”.
Apple HomePod comes at $349 (Rs 22,440 approx.) and will start shipping in the US, UK and Australia starting December this year.
The speaker will sell for about $350 in December in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia.
A survey released last month by research firm eMarketer found Echo speakers held 70.6 percent of the USA market, compared with 23.8 percent for Google Home.
This takes aim at Amazon.com’s Alexa feature and Echo devices, according to a report by Todayonline. The Google Home runs $129 but can be found for under $100.
Why didn’t Apple plug the virtual assistant features of the HomePod more? Federighi said that with millions of iPhones and iPads capable of supporting AR, ARKit will become “the largest AR platform in the world” overnight.
Apple boss Tim Cook said the event was “the best and biggest WWDC ever”.
There is also an update to Apple’s all-in-one desktops, iMac.
Sixteen years ago, Apple revolutionized the technology industry when it released the first iPod. There’s no word yet on support for third-party services, or ways for developers to adapt their services for HomePod.
The HomePod will be powerful on the inside, too, with a custom A8 chip, just like on an iPhone.

The new versions of MacOS and iOS are already available in beta for developers, and the public release for consumers is coming this fall.
