What is Black Friday and who’s to blame for it?
“Walmart will never be the retailer that broadcasts a great price on Black Friday and then ends up only having a few in stock”, Chief Merchandising Officer Steve Bratspies said in a press release.

While some shoppers wandered through the aisles, looking at deeply discounted clothing and home goods, many in the store gathered in organized lines snaking through the aisles – hoping to snag one of the tablets, flat-screen TVs and other electronics that made up most of the store’s Black Friday ad.
But, with 9% of shoppers admitting they are anxious they will spend more than they can afford at the sales – 19.4% of those aged between 18 and 34 – experts have warned people to be careful.
Still, stores aren’t waiting around to push discounts on holiday goods until the official weekend.
“Many families are still upgrading to the latest generation consoles and it appears they will be using Black Friday and the surrounding shopping period to do so”. “Shoppers won’t be lining up for Thanksgiving sales in three states Rhode Island, Massachusetts and ME since shopping on a holiday is illegal, due to “blue laws”. There’s nothing quite like Black Friday.
Shoppers no longer have to wait until Black Friday to cruise store aisles for holiday deals.
“We have a lot of different TVs”, store manager Joan Connolly said, adding that the televisions are $300 to $400 off. “And something new this year that has been very popular is we have drones”. Almost every major retailer will celebrate the traditional start of the holiday shopping season by pulling out all the stops.
The busiest day of the year for seasonal online shopping, this year Cyber Monday is on November 30.
Amazon: The online retailer is always open and has been offering new limited-time Lightning Deals throughout November.
Retailers suggest customers line up several hours before stores open. Many stores are again starting Black Friday sales early on Thursday this year.
Stores will also give out two tickets to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to the first 100 shoppers on Black Friday. Guess what? We are open Thanksgiving and other holidays, too! Gerald Storch, CEO of Hudson’s Bay Company, which also operates Lord & Taylor, said the deals at the stores are even more aggressive than past year and include a $75 gift card with a $150 in-store purchase.
“The chances of employees becoming victims of a fraud may be higher than normal on Black Friday”.

Meanwhile, Amazon has also already announced its upcoming Cyber Monday Deals. Those are just a handful of some of the restaurants planning to serve meals, although hours are expected to vary by location across the country so it’s best to call ahead to find out.
