TORONTO (AP) – Midway through his first at-bat Sunday, Blue Jays slugger Josh Donaldson was hopping around in pain after fouling a ball off his right knee.
TORONTO-B.J. Upton saw Max Kepler dive for his sinking drive in the eighth inning and when the ball skipped past the right fielder he was thinking triple. Michael Saunders had gotten the ball rolling an inning before with an RBI double. Another uninspiring effort from Marcus Stroman had the team down 5-1 after six innings.

Stroman was replaced by Bo Schultz to start the seventh and while Schultz managed to get the first two hitters, he walked outfielder Max Kepler and then gave up a home run to third baseman Trevor Plouffe to right field on a 3-2 pitch, a 96-MPH fastball, the Twins taking a 7-3 lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Minnesota led by one-run with the tying run at 3rd base and Melvin Upton Jr. representing the go-ahead run at the plate for Toronto. After fouling off a couple of Pressly offerings on a 3-2 count, Encarnacion hit a single to left to score Bautista, moving Donaldson to third.
