President Barack Obama emerged from his Martha’s Vineyard vacation for a fundraiser, but he didn’t mention any of the devastating events now affecting the United States.

President Barack Obama is well-known for his summer vacations to Martha’s Vineyard, and for the last time as president, he’s there once again.

“Frankly I’m exhausted of talking about her opponent”, Obama told 60 donors who had paid $10,000 to attend the fundraiser.

“If we are not running scared until the day after the election, we are going to be making a grave mistake”, he said.

He also urged the Democratic donors at a Clinton fundraiser to help counter an “unrelenting negative campaign” against the former secretary of state “that has made a dent in the opinion of people even who are inclined to vote for her”.

US President Barack Obama has spent nearly every night of his getaway painting the island red.

The fundraiser was at a private residence in the town of Chilmark on the island with around 60 attendees who contributed $10,000 each to attend.

Monday’s event was hosted by Hank Goldberg, a real estate investor, and his wife Carol Brown Goldberg, a mixed-media artist.

The proceeds will benefit Clinton’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties across the country.

The President added that the First Lady Michelle Obama normally urges him to withdraw from political life during his vacations.

Something happened to Obama during his summer vacation on Martha’s Vineyard: He turned into a night owl. But, he said, “she gave me special dispensation for this evening because she understands, just as all of you understand, how important this is”.

On Sunday, after Obama had already played golf for about five hours, the small group of reporters that accompanies the president in public was released for dinner, but told to reassemble at 8:15 p.m.

Clinton is not expected to appear with Obama.
