And Biles proved she is the best female gymnast in the world on the same day when she took gold in the individual all-around competition.
Earning four medals in Rio, Olympic swimmer Simone Manuel is also a force to be reckoned with.
In a wonderful twist, Efron became a fangirl of Biles himself during this summer’s Olympic Games, which led to the pair’s very climactic meet-up – complete with multiple cheek-kisses! – in Rio. She and Penny Oleksiak of Canada tied for the fastest time, an Olympic record in the women’s 100-meter freestyle: 52.70 seconds. It’s the first time since 2010 that there has been such an vast interest in the name.
“Simone baby name” searches have reportedly jumped up by a whopping 230 percent in August alone, this according to Google Trends.
