What to know about Meghan Markle’s first solo engagement with Queen Elizabeth
The Queen doesn’t indulge in worries and she didn’t spend a lot of time checking on Meghan, but instead let her get on with it. The place is so special that Meghan’s engagement ring has a diamond from Botswana, a personal touch from Prince Harry.

On her first solo outing with Queen Elizabeth, it’s only right Meghan Markle should travel in style.
‘It is the way of the royal family – all part of the training and getting used to being in public life and under public scrutiny, ‘ Elizabeth’s former press secretary, Charles Anson, told PEOPLE of the Queen’s taking Meghan under her wing.
They arrived in Cheshire onboard the royal train and are visiting the new Mersey Gateway Bridge and Chester.

The pair travelled overnight on the royal train for today’s engagements. “It’s the one side of the world where Harry says he feels like he can be himself”.
The Queen, on the other hand, also took a page out of her royal wedding playbook, wearing a lime green dress coat and hat similar to the she wore for the nuptials last month.
The Queen and the duchess were set to visit Storyhouse, Chester, then walk to Chester Town Hall to have lunch as guests of Cheshire West and Chester Council.
It’s not the first time Meghan has replicated a Diana look – at her first Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday, she wore a dress which beared an uncanny resemblance to a dress Princess Diana wore in 1987.

Harry and Meghan had tied the knot in a televised wedding on May 19. They went on safaris, laid around in the sun (hence Markle’s Trooping the Colour tan), and apparently went on what E! described as “outdoor adventures”. Instead, the Mail reports that designers visit them at Kensington Palace with clothes so she can at least be in the comfort of their home as they pick and choose. As usual, they also looked adorable for this major royal family photo op, with their 7-year-old cousin Savannah Phillips nearly stealing the show by pretending to conduct the orchestra or by putting her hand over George’s mouth.
