What Tuesday’s Results Mean For The Rest Of The Presidential Campaign
As with the Republicans, Missouri was too close to call by Wednesday morning. But I can tell you if we didn’t, if we’re 20 votes short or if we’re 100 short and we’re at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400…I don’t think you can say that we don’t get it automatically.

As for President Barack Obama’s earlier nomination of appeals court Judge Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court, Kasich said the president shouldn’t “stiff the legislative body” by rushing to a decision that isn’t in the country’s best interest.
He told CNN that he is the best person to beat Mrs Clinton and is lining up great political support. So he will likely cherry-pick his way through the most favorable states remaining in a last-ditch strategy to deny Donald Trump the nomination by starving him of delegates.
Democrats: Mrs Clinton (62.9%) finished well in front of Mr Sanders (35.9%), who was hoping to repeat last week’s upset victory in neighbouring MI.
This will be the first time during the Republican primary when candidates can sweep up all the delegates in a state, thus pulling ahead of the competition if they achieve a win. A person familiar with the planning confirmed the meeting on the condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss the gathering by name.
“If you go into the convention and not anyone has the requisite number of delegates, there are rules that account for it”, Rubio said. “Once the battle is over, once the war is over, I think there really is a natural healing process”.
Trump was backed by almost two-thirds of those who would like to see illegal immigrants deported; those who want to give undocumented workers a chance to apply for legal status divided their votes closely between the two.
In the overall delegate race, Trump leads the Republican field with 621.
Another possible indication that the Rubio campaign had seen the writing on the wall was his campaign asking OH voters to vote for John Kasich instead of Rubio. A candidate is then officially nominated when they gain a majority of the delegates voting at the convention. He suggested Kasich is well-positioned to amass delegates in the upcoming primary contests to help bolster his position in a contested convention. The Texas senator needs to claim roughly 75 percent of the remaining delegates to earn the delegate majority, according to Associated Press delegate projections.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio exited the race Tuesday, with 169 delegates.
Trump reminded Cuomo that he represented “many millions of people”.
On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defeated Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
In Florida and North Carolina about 8 in 10 black voters supported her, which is closer to her average margin in previous states.
With the three wins, Clinton will pick up at least 253 delegates while Sanders will gain 124.

Whether either did well enough, however, to put them on a certain path toward winning their parties’ nomination is up for debate. Florida was the biggest prize, netting Trump all 99 delegates.
