Pokemon Go is now available in the US, New Zealand and Australia.

Previously, players in the UK had to turn to different tricks, such as installing the APK or switching to the USA store on iOS (if they had an account for the United States market) in order to get the game, but thanks to today’s official release, the game can be downloaded just like any other app from the store.
Pokemon Go has proved phenomenally popular and the launch has been staggered to help developer Niantic cope with demand.
Let’s hope Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store can handle the influx of traffic coming in from United Kingdom users late on Wednesday and early Thursday morning.
The company behind the app, Niantic, said having Pokémon Go ask for full access was a mistake and that, even if users grant full access, Google doesn’t use it. Nintendo owns a third of Pokemon Co and has an undisclosed stake in Niantic.

Using the phone’s camera, the Pokemon are placed on screen as if they’re standing right next to you, and can be caught by simply throwing pokeballs – slightly different from the traditional formula of the series.

On Wednesday morning, it was announced that Pokemon GO was now live in Germany, marking the game’s first official launch in Europe. For now, the app is available in Australia, New Zealand and the US. Its delayed arrival in the mobile platform is still projected to boost its profits by as much as 15 percent – and “Pokemon GO” raised it by as much as 25 percent, or the aforementioned billion.
