WhatsApp leak reveals major new features including music sharing

WhatsApp is also reportedly launching support for larger emoji which 9to5 Mac notes will be similar to Apple’s implementation with iOS 10. However, for Apple Music sharing to work, both the sender and the recipient have to be paying subscribers.
Reported by German publication Macerkopf, the upcoming features were spotted in the WhatsApp for iOS beta, just like mentions and group invite links. So, a player icon will be available inside the application and users will be able to listen to multimedia files without closing the app. It is also rumoured that WhatsApp is able to share music stored locally on their devices as well as can be tracked from Apple Music. With music sharing, WhatsApp could win another major share among file transfer services.
WhatsApp now allows users to share pictures, videos, location, contacts and even documents.

The recipient will get album art with a music icon, a functionality which is not available now in shared audio files. It is unclear if WhatsApp will bring support for other music streaming services like Spotify, Saavn, etc. As we said, this build of WhatsApp is in beta right now; eventually these features will be available from the version of the Facebook owned messaging app available from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
