Earlier, there have been many reports on social media claiming WhatsApp group video call, but the company made has now officially announced it.

In addition to new features, WhatsApp also talked about its progress in terms of numbers. As for the video and audio call feature, a total of two billion minutes are being spent every single day on the feature by its massive number of users.

WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum announced he is stepping down as CEO, reportedly due to clashes with parent Facebook over user data, encryption and how to monetise the messaging app.

It is believed that Koum is leaving due to disagreement with Facebook over the privacy of user data and the Cambridge Analytica scandal, though Facebook has not confirmed this. In an update to its terms of service, WhatsApp said the minimum age for users outside the European Union was still 13 years. Besides being available worldwide, the new features introduced by the company are available across the globe. It would also permit third parties to create their own collection of stickers. The chat app, in an effort to bring more transparency into its privacy policies, now allows beta users to download their WhatsApp data. Also, a user will be able to share clips from GoPro cameras directly as stories.

Zuckerberg also admitted to the fact that its Stories were performing better on WhatsApp rather than in Instagram, Messenger or Facebook.
