The screenshot above shows the iOS version of the app, but presumably the feature will arrive on Android and other platforms as well.
WhatsApp has released the Voice Calling feature in April 2015 and since then, many people made a decision to install this application on their smartphones. However, it is only now that its arrival seems imminent. According to this, WhatsApp is testing v2.12.16.2 internally (v2.12.12 is now available to the public), a build that carries video calling feature.
German Apple blog Macerkopf.de has obtained a couple of leaked screenshots that show full-screen video calling in a beta version of WhatsApp iOS app. The images have fueled speculations that the feature could be pushed out to users in the coming days or weeks.
The video calling feature will let WhatsApp users to start and receive video calls on a Wi-Fi connection as well as cellular data. Since it is movable, users will place that window anywhere on the screen.
The latest build number of WhatsApp (2.12.12) suggests that the video chatting feature is likely to hit the App Store with the app’s next update.
It also has a tabbed chat interface, allowing you to switch between active chats quickly and easily.
For the longest time ever, WhatsApp did not have voice calling capabilities. Using these tabs, you can switch back and forth between individual chats without having to go back to the WhatsApp chats list.

Also new in this version of WhatsApp is the option to send or receive web links with a rich preview. In addition, the app is getting a makeover with a focus on the color green.
