The HBO series picked up nine statuettes at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, which reward artistic and technical achievement, giving it a total haul over the years of 35 – more than any other drama series.

After he lost in the variety series category to “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”, the Emmy audience was treated to an exchange between Kimmel and his long standing “rival”, Matt Damon.

The show follows a hilarious group of friends in the tech startup world, led by the awkward character played by Thomas Middleditch, who earned himself a nomination for Lead Actor in a Comedy for the first time. I’m also a John le Carré fan, so when an adaptation comes along firing on as many cylinders as The Night Manager does, I have to give it props-and some Emmys.
