With black Friday round the corner, many retailers are introducing their promotional deals for online and in-store purchases to attract more customers. While it’s possible that other companies may offer better deals on certain items, Yahoo Tech notes that their market dominance is the largest factor in their success.

But shoppers don’t have to trek to a store after eating turkey and stuffing; the same deals will be available online at Target.com on Thanksgiving morning, the Minneapolis-based retailer said Monday.
This year, Walmart’s mobile users got a first look at the Black Friday circular, which posted via the app right after midnight.
Retailers have started releasing details about their holiday season deals, and many markdowns started as early as November 1.
“Our plan is fundamentally, make shopping easier for our customers”, he says. Walmart will also be handing out wristbands to consumers for the most in-demand items. Stores will open at 6 PM on Thanksgiving day. Either the product or a raincheck for guaranteed delivery before Christmas will be available.
This year Walmart said it was focused on stocking its stores with the products shoppers wanted most.
A few other researchers are also warning of slower growth due to stagnant wages, a sluggish stock market and tough price competition, and on Wednesday, department store Macy’s Inc (M.N) raised further concerns about the retail sector after it reported weak sales and cut its full-year forecast. Apart from that, Walmart is also implementing in-store maps that help one to find and locate the deals, crowd management plans and safety plans.
He pointed out that shoppers can still get their online orders free of charge by picking them up in store, adding that the average basket during the holidays tends to carry a bit higher price tag than during the rest of the year.
That’s up from 90 percent past year. “However, with so many stores open on Thanksgiving, promotions starting earlier and running longer, and other factors, retailers are seeing an overall erosion in Black Friday sales”, said the consultancy in a research report. Wal-Mart has announced that it will be offering the same exact in-store Black Friday doorbusters, online.

Wal-Mart’s latest announcement isn’t the first surprise it has delivered regarding its online strategy this season.
