Where is Santa? NORAD knows…
But if you want to know exactly where Saint Nick is on his long Christmas quest, all you have to do is check the radar.

NORAD, which also runs the North American air and space defense monitoring systems, began its website countdown Wednesday from Santa’s North Pole Village.
A 1955 newspaper advertisement for Sears Roebuck and Co. listed a phone number for “kiddies” to call Santa Claus but got it wrong. Not wanting to crush the spirits of children, then-colonel Harry Shoup told his colleagues to play along and provide callers with Santa’s exact location. Windows phone users can ask Cortana for Santa’s location, and OnStar subscribers can press the button in their vehicle to get an update. Google’s Santa Tracker is a more colorful cartoon representation while NORAD shows a more life-like avatar of Santa with his reindeer galloping in the sky.
NORAD’s Santa Tracker is also up and running again this year, if you’d prefer a different view. After leaving Port Louis, Mauritius around 10:45 p.m. local time, Santa had already delivered more than 2.3 BILLION presents!
This Christmas Eve will be the 60th year that NORAD will have tracked Santa Claus’ journey.
While the site includes many old classics, like the always amusing Santa phone call greetings and coding challenges, it also includes a few new items as well.
Created by a 1958 agreement between Canada and the United States, the North American Aerospace Defense Command [NORAD] is responsible for the aerospace and maritime defense of both countries.
Finally, to have a 3D cartographic experience, you can track Santa using Google Earth.
The call center in a training building will be staffed for 23 hours.

It takes 1,500 volunteers to man the hundreds of thousands of phone calls and emails from children wondering when their presents will arrive.
