Where Memorial Day Services are in the area

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is the guest speaker, and Joe Formola, chaplain of the New Jersey State Council of Vietnam Veterans of America, will give the invocation.

Powell – The Memorial Day parade will step off at 10 a.m. on Grace Drive and finish at the railroad crossing on Olentangy Street.

Events will move to Lincoln Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m., with a wreath casting for those lost at sea followed by a program.

Dallas: American Legion Post 672 will hold its Memorial Day parade starting at 9 a.m. Monday at the American Legion on Memorial Highway.

DeWitt: Services at Oak Grove Cemetery at 10:30 a.m., followed by public dinner at DeWitt Community Center.

Following the Monday morning service at the courthouse, VFW Post 6277 will have a memorial service at 4 p.m.at the VFW building on the corner of Poplar Street and Commercial Avenue in Monterey. A short ceremony will take place there followed by the traditional Memorial Day service at the cemetery.

Edwardsville: St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Edwardsville, will hold a service at 9 a.m. Monday in Veterans Memorial Park.

Parade and ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. Parade begins on Park Street near the Historic Log Cabin. The parade will proceed from Scott Street down Mill Street to George Avenue and conclude at the park on Scott Street, where a memorial service will be held.

Dorchester and Pleasant Hill: Services at Dorchester Cemetery at 10 a.m.; at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. conducted by Dorchester Legion Post 264.

At 10 a.m.in Fruita, Snyder Grand Valley Memorials will etch new names onto the memorial wall.

The Legion in Lennox will host a ceremony and service at the American Legion Hall, at 7:00 PM.
