Moore has kept a low-profile in recent months, notably absent from the cable news circuit where he often serves as a liberal pundit.

Moore’s website had no other details about the new film, and he recently answered an online question about the film by saying only, “It’s my policy not to discuss my projects until I release them publicly”.

Where to Invade Next” is produced by Dog Eat Dog Films and IMG.

Moore described the film’s production as though it were a heist, explaining that he used “a small crew because we have to be able to move at a moment’s notice, usually someone chasing us”.

He called it “a film of epic nature” and said shooting took place on three different continents.

“The issue of the United States at infinite war is something that has concerned me for quite some time and provides the necessary satire for this film”, said Moore, a vocal critic of George W. Bush’s war on terror.

Where to Invade Next,‘ made in secret because of surveillance concerns, satirises ‘constant need to have an enemy to keep the military-industrial complex alive”. “I’ve cheapened my movie!'”. Because I’m asking you to give up your Friday or Saturday night and come to the theater and buy a ticket and $9 popcorn – that’ll be my next movie… “The least of which, I’d just like to say hello to my NSA friends”, he said.

“I’ve been very quiet about the making of this film”, the Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker said.

Moore said no one U.S. military adventure inspired Where to Invade Next.

A 2011 list compiled by Box Office Mojo lists “Fahrenheit 9/11”, “Sicko” and “Bowling For Columbine” in the top 11-grossing documentaries of all time, with “Fahrenheit” topping the list.
