Truck’s sister shop, Rapture in Witney, will also stock limited releases and will host live music from Syvla Kay, Muddy Johnson and Lucy Leave.
The event was started nine years ago in the US. If you’re looking for a specific record, shop around to find the best rate. “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica!”.
“Sound Go Round has been super awesome to local bands and businesses and this is the second year in a row that they’ve invited us to perform acoustic in store for the event”, said Tyler Reed, the lead singer of Lila Ignite.
This year, Record Store Day will see releases by the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Mumford & Sons and Florence and the Machine among classic recordings by Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Patti Smith and The Sonics. Bert was part of the Sixties folk scene and a huge influence on Neil Young, Nick Drake, Johnny Marr and Bernard Butler.

For anyone who loves the feel of sliding a record out of its sleeve, hearing the crackle as the needle hits the plastic and that inimitable, rich timbre of vinyl, then Record Store Day is for you. “And the fact that you can see that when you pick up a vinyl record is so unbelievable to me”.
Record Store Day honors the shops that purvey in music in its many playback-able forms.
Newport City Radio managing director Ian Lamsdale, said: “Record Store Day has become a key date in our live events schedule”.

He added: “If anyone would like to be in the audience (and therefore on the record) they should please turn up at around 1pm”. There is one day a year, however, to remind people of what they are missing.
