Christmas Eve Forecast: Record-shattering warmth today
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in some parts of the country, but in others it feels more like a typical spring day. Green Christmas wins out this year with record-breaking temperatures making for a holiday that could get Heat Miser singing.

A weather station southwest of Montreal hit 70 degrees at 10 a.m Thursday; Bennington, Vt., reached 70 at 11 a.m.

“If somebody is planning to travel out there, they should find another route”, said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist with the National Weather Service.

Most of the shower activity is finished by noon, and some clearing takes place mainly to the north. Christmas Eve afternoon temperatures are record breaking, in the upper 60s to lower 70s!

The most recent snowfall on Christmas Day was in 2008 and the region was embedded in an extended cold and snowy weather period that started on December 13 and ran through the end of the year. The Christmas Day high will be a somewhat balmyh 63 degrees in Bartlesville. Look for highs closer to 60 Wednesday with lows near 40, which would bring us back closer to seasonal temperatures. Higher-than-usual temperatures were projected to continue through January.
