White House releases Obama’s summer reading list
Now that we have the POTUS summer listening, we just need to see what the First Lady has on her rotation right now. Last year, he shared his vacation playlist in two parts, and today, he’s similarly dropped off separate playlists – one daytime, one nighttime – for the dog days.

President Obama and his family are taking their annual Vineyard vacation, reportedly staying at an expansive rental property, located in Chilmark.
Obama chose Veloso´s version of “Cucurrucucu Paloma”, an often-covered Mexican song of longing that was popularized in part by Harry Belafonte, the U.S. singer also active in leftist politics.
So Thursday, Barack Obama released his summer playlist, giving some musicians an August thrill.
When he’s not playing golf or spending time with his daughters, the president is perusing five books, according to the White House.
Of course, the featured artists weren’t the only ones excited by Obama’s summer playlist. That said, a significant portion of the collection is already on The White House’s Spotify, leaving only four tracks unaccounted for. The daytime playlist would be flawless for a barbecue (or perhaps a chill hangout session with Prime Minister Trudeau, President Obama?).
Still, what’s maybe more interesting than the new additions – and especially indicative of the president’s actual taste – are the repeat artists who’ve appeared on both the 2015 and 2016 lists, including Aretha Franklin and Miles Davis, among others. We’ll miss this guy’s ability to engage with the culture in ways that few Presidents do, and also-these playlists are really friggin’ good.
Lily, whose dream job is to become a cardiovascular surgeon, also told Obama that her father, who serves in the Air Force, inspired her to pick “President” as her back up career. We have to assume Malia tuned him into Chance.

Obama loves Fiona Apple’s “Criminal”, but then again we all do.
